Cody Johnson Bringing ‘The Leather Tour’ to Bryce Jordan Center

Country singer-songwriter Cody Johnson will make a stop in State College on his “Leather Tour” this fall.

Johnson will perform at Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center on Nov. 16. He’ll be joined by fellow country singer-songwriter Ashley McBryde for the 7:30 p.m. show.

Tickets starting at $45 go on sale to the general public through Ticketmaster at 10 a.m. on May 3. A presale for COJO Nation fan club members starts at 10 a.m. on April 30.

The BJC is the last of 10 new dates on “The Leather Tour” announced Monday, which also include a show at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center.

A neotraditionalist influenced by the likes of George Strait, Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson, Johnson has earned a raft of country music awards and nominations while scoring hits with songs such as “Diamond in My Pocket,” “Ain’t Nothin’ to It,” ‘Til You Can’t,” “On My Way to You,” “Human,” and “The Painter.”

After releasing his most recent album, “Leather,” in late 2023, Johnson earned nominations for Entertainer, Male Artist, Album and Song of the year at next month’s Academy of Country Music Awards.

Melding country, bluegrass, pop and rock, McBryde broke out with her 2018 major label debut full-length “Girl Going Nowhere,” which was nominated for Best Country Album at the Grammy Awards and has since produced three more acclaimed albums, including 2023’s “The Devil I Know.”

She’s had hits with songs like “”A Little Dive Bar in Dahlonega,” “Girl Goin’ Nowhere” and “One Night Standards,” and won the Grammy for Best Country Duo Performance in 2023 for her Carly Pearce collaboration “Never Wanted to Be That Girl.”

Johnson and McBryde join an upcoming BJC lineup that includes Billy Strings (Aug. 2-3), Kacey Musgraves (Sept. 4) and Jelly Roll (Oct. 1).
