Dr. Harvey P. Hanlen had been in private Optometric practice for 36 years. He was a founding partner of Nittany Eye Associates 15 years ago and retired from private practice in December, 2006. He did his undergraduate work at the University of Maryland and received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1974. Locally Dr. Hanlen has been involved in many community activities over the years including serving on the Board of Directors of the Jewish Community Center of State College and he was active for many years in the Centre County United Way, having served as the county chairman in 1988.
