The foundation of vinyasa is linking breath to movement. In this invigorating class, you will create heat and energy in the body as you flow through a sequence of postures linked by breath. In addition to physical postures that build balance, strength, and flexibility, this class integrates pranayama breathwork and meditation to instill a sense of calm and relaxation. An extended savasana at the end of practice provides an opportunity to soak in these mind-body benefits. Whether you are newer to yoga or an advanced practitioner, different pose variations are given so you may practice at your own comfort level.

Dates: March 3 or March 24
Time: 3-4pm

This introductory class is designed for beginners or as a refresher to the process. You will learn how to identify different brain states that hijack your ability to move forward, and experience powerful meditational tools that can reverse that process. You’ll get hands-on experience in the Neurosculpting® modality of meditation and brain entrainment to see if this process is right for you.
The Neurosculpting® practice is designed to help you prime your brain for optimal engagement. This is the standard induction for ALL Neurosculpting® meditations. As a stand-alone meditation this is great for quieting the fight-or-flight response and bringing exercise to your higher-level executive attention centers. It’s simple, direct, and very powerful.
In simple terms, Neurosculpting® is a 5-step meditation process that can strategically help an individual release the grip of old patterns and entrain their brain to create new and more supportive patterns, habits and behaviors.
Slow flow yoga offers an opportunity for renewal through slower transitions between postures, longer holds and mindful movement with breath awareness. This class welcomes practitioners of all ability levels (ages 12 – adult) who are interested in slowing the mind-body down and supporting the restoration of balance.

Exhibits
The State College Chapter of the American Red Cross was founded on March 27, 1917 by Katharine Cotton Sparks. It was Katharine’s dream to bring the forces of town and gown together to improve the welfare of the community through an emergency response organization.
As we celebrate the Centennial of the Centre Communities Chapter of the American Red Cross, it is fitting that we highlight the role's of Hilda Patton Thompson and her sister Alice Irvin Thompson that spanned over WWI and WWII.
Hilda and Alice Thompson, granddaughters of Moses & Mary Thompson of Centre Furnace, were both fervid humanitarians. They supported the men overseas through their unstoppable efforts at the Red Cross clubs and battlefield relief work during WWI and WWII. Neither Hilda nor Alice ever gave up the ideals instilled in them through their training, and both carried on volunteering after their retirement.
This display will be on view through February 28, 2018 during regular tour hours Wednesday/Friday/Sunday 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Centre Furnace Mansion, 1001 E. College Ave. State College.
