Anne Kenyon, Bob Martin, April at the Gallery Shop

Anne Kenyon
Anne Kenyon is primarily a landscape artist who has worked in a
variety of media over the years: handmade paper, watercolor, pastel
and most recently printmaking. She often combines media to achieve a
more interesting result- pastel over watercolor or watercolor and
pastel over a hand pulled print. Combinations of media allow the
exploration of compositions and color in a variety of ways. An image
in one media can lead to interesting explorations of the same
composition in another.

Bob Martin
Unlike production wood bowl turners who need to quickly produce
uniform bowls, turners like Bob Martin seek highly figured wood to
make bowls. Figure in wood comes from parts of a tree under stress,
like at the base of the tree or the crotch formed with a branch. Many
bowls come from decaying wood that offers worm holes, bark intrusion
and stains from insects or the decaying process. Each bowl is unique
and the form of the bowl is not determined until Bob begins turning
the wood.
