Black Moshannon Summer Festival

Axes will fly, seeds will be spit, and logs will be cut during the 34th Annual Friends Of Black Moshannon Summer Festival on July 20. Try out the Lumber Day events, participate in the Lake Side Challenge, then dance the night away at the beach party. Visit the craft and food vendors that will be located in the day-use area.

The Lumber Day events include log cross-cut, log rolling, pine cone toss, seed spit, ax throw, scat drop, and horseshoes. Registration starts at 10:30 am, and the events start at 11:00 am and finish up at 3 pm. The cost is $1 per person. Please wear closed toed shoes and long pants, such as jeans, to participate in the log cross cut and log rolling.

Visit Exotic Edventures in the Environmental Learning Center to see live animals, such as reptiles and a few mammals! Stop by George Franchock's table in the craft area to learn how to use primitive woodworking tools. He will be demonstrating spring pole lathe, spoon carving, and how to use a shaving horse.

On Saturday evening, stop by the beach between 8 pm and 10 pm to enjoy music by a DJ from Tor Michaels Entertainment. Hot dogs will be available to cook over the campfire on the beach.
