Goin' for the Green Spring Hike at Greenwood Furnace State Park

“Get Outdoors Pennsylvania” and welcome spring with this hike at Greenwood Furnace State Park on Saturday morning, March 16, 2019, at 10:00 am. Park Manager Mike Dinsmore will lead the moderately difficult hike, along a section of one of park’s many trails. The hike will be about 6 miles in length. Hikers are to park and meet at the Visitor Center/Park Office. For added fun, in recognition of St. Patrick’s Day, wear something green.
Greenwood Furnace State Park has a variety of trails for all levels of walkers and hikers. From easy trails in the park to rugged cross-country trails in the surrounding Rothrock State Forest, we have a trail for you. To fully enjoy the hike, be sure to dress for the weather, with multiple layers of clothing, and good, waterproof, insulated boots. A hat and gloves are recommended as well. Properly dressed, you will stay warm and comfy. “We’ve got trails, so go take a hike!”
