Nittany Mineralogical Society: Marcellus Shale

All are welcome to attend Nittany Mineralogical Society's first meeting of the new year and decade, this Wednesday, January 15.
Geologist Steve Clark will discuss the geological, engineering and safety aspects of exploration and drilling for oil and gas in the Marcellus Shale region, including "geosteering" (the process by which the drill is guided to extract the most gas). Admission is free; minors must be accompanied by their parent or guardian. Social hour starts at 7 PM, and the meeting begins at 7:45, with the featured program at 8. The event will be in 114 Earth and Engineering Sciences Building on campus.
