Ted McCloskey and the Hi-Fi’s

Ted McCloskey has been telling compelling stories for a long time. He is a singer/songwriter, a multi-instrumentalist, a producer and film composer. His award-winning music has been featured on AMC’s The Walking Dead and Mad Men, NBC’s, The Voice, PBS, MTV, Discovery, and the History Channel, among others. In March 2013 Honda Motors picked up a track from his 2012 album, The Last of the Pin-Up Girls for use in a national television ad campaign. When you see Ted and his band, The Hi-Fi’s, you know you’re seeing something special. It’s pure energy—a snarling kind of rock ‘n’ roll that’s hard to find these days.

Ted’s 9th release, Last Flower Standing, is a complex and haunting exposé on those toxic flowers and beautiful weeds that exist all around us. It’s about unshakable shadows that can’t just be buried and forgotten. It’s about discarded souls that have been uprooted yet survive. Familiarly riff-driven and doused in exposed nerves and slide guitars—Last Flower Standing is both heartbreaking and beautiful; a survival story and a past exhumed.
