Bald Eagle Valley

In 2010 the area had its 15 seconds of fame when scenes were shot for the 20th Century Fox movie “Unstoppable” starring Denzel Washington. Scenes were shot in Julian, Milesburg, Pleasant Gap, Port Matilda, Unionville and Wingate, as well as in the nearby communities of Beech Creek and Tyrone. Residents of those communities even turned out for casting calls for extras.

With a population under 13,000, the Bald Eagle area offers a spacious and private environment just fifteen minutes from major local towns. It encompasses smaller towns such as Port Matilda, Julian, Milesburg and Howard, to name a few.
