Pizza Cones Coming to Beaver Stadium Concession Stands

no description

Another new offering is coming to Beaver Stadium concession stands this fall.

A week after Penn State’s Berkey Creamery said it would sell ice cream pints at general concession stands in the stadium for the first time, Kono Pizza announced its unique ‘Pizza Kones’ will be available at Nittany Lion football games this fall.

The concept is simple — traditional pizza served in a cone-shaped crust.

Kono’s Pizza’s revolutionary Kone style is a perfect portable meal choice and we are excited for this opportunity brought to us by one of our key franchises,’ Kono co-founders David Ragosa and Carlo Ruggiero said in a news release.

Dough and sauces are imported from Italy, and all Kones are made-to-order. Kono has 10 locations or food trucks around the country. The franchise bringing Kono to Beaver Stadium has locations at King of Prussia and the Cherry Hill (N.J.) Mall, as well as a food truck that serves the Philadelphia area.

We are excited to expand and grow, offering Kono Pizza to a new extended customer base tied to one of the nation’s top college athletic programs,’ franchise owner Eric Ciancaglini said.

Kono expects to have a food truck on hand for tailgaters prior to the season-opener against Akron on Sept. 2.

Though a news release from the company said Pizza Kones also would be offered at the Bryce Jordan Center and Pegula Ice Arena, a Penn State Athletics representative said on Wednesday that those arrangements have not yet been made.
