Halloween Guide 2012

October 31st is Halloween and there are many events going on in and around State College.

Trick-or-Treat Night will be held in the Centre Region on Monday, Oct. 31, 2011 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM only. This applies to the Borough of State College and the Townships of College, Ferguson, Harris and Patton.

Penn State Haunted Cottages

The Penn State Forensic Science Club will be hosting a Haunted House featuring "The Last Show on Earth". The Haunted House will be open on October 27 and 28 from 8pm to 11pm and October 30 from 7pm to 10pm. The Haunted Houses are located on campus, near the HUB at Spruce and Pine Cottages.

Halloween Extravaganza Event

Stop in Michaels Saturday for some great events: Duck Tape Pail or Tote 11am - Noon featuring Make-It Take-It with purchase of pail or tote while supplies last. FREE Face Painting Noon - 1:30pm while supplies last. Halloween Parade 1:30pm - 2pm.

Special Halloween Storytime

Come to Barnes & Noble dressed in your costumes and enjoy treats (but no tricks!) as we celebrate Halloween with some of our favorite stories, including Goodnight Goon. (10:30 am)

Haunted Bog Walks

Enjoy a stroll on the boardwalk to see the unique plants and animals that live there while getting scared. The 7:00pm haunted bog walk won't be as scary for the younger children.(Saturday 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm)

Philipsburg Harvest Fest

There will be plenty of opportunities to enjoy downtown Philipsburg and celebrate the fall harvest. Parade, Trick or Treating, Pumpkin carving, Halloween party for all ages and more.(10:00 am to 4:00 pm)

Michael Myers versus Freddy Krueger

Come and watch these iconic films at The State Theatre back to back for 2 nights and cast your vote for your favorite villain. It’s sure to be a bloody good time. (Sat-Sun 7:00pm, 9:30 pm)

Haunted Helicopter Lab

Aerospace engineering students will host the annual Haunted Helicopter Lab in 207 Engineering Unit C (Behind Hammond Building). Free admission, yummy treats. Full Fright version for the daring, Monster Dance Party version for younger children. (Sun 2-6pm, Mon 1-5:30pm)

Family Spook Fest

The event at Centre LifeLink EMS will feature Ike the Spike, B94.5, games, prizes, crafts, and a haunted ambulance tour. Feel free to dress up!(Sunday 3-6 pm)

Greek-or-Treat

Family and kid friendly event with games, child-friendly haunted houses and other Halloween events. Check it out from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the corner of Fraternity Row and Fairmount Ave.

Discovery Space Halloween

A Not-so-spooky Halloween is happening at Discovery Space this Sunday noon till 6:00 pm with lots of Halloween activities. Regular admission $6/person applies. Free for members.

Halloween Howls

Come to Schlow for Halloween themed crafts, games, and activities. Don't forget to dress up in your costume to trick-or-treat around the library! (2:00-4:00 pm)

Golf-O-Ween

FREE Parent-Child Golf Event Saturday at 2:00 pm at the Blue Course. Ages 6-10 with guardian. Space is limited to the first 50 people who sign up. (register)

Centre Region Parks & Recreation 66th Annual Halloween Costume Parade

A FREE fall family tradition, the Centre Region Halloween Costume Parade will be held on Sunday, Oct. 30. The parade forms on N. Burrowes St. off W. College Avenue (beside the PSU steam plant) at 6:30 PM

Nittany Mall Trick or Treat Night

Costumed children 10 years of age and younger are invited to trick or treat at participating stores! (6pm-8pm)
