This large brick Federal Style House, built in 1831 by James Curtin, orginates from
Martha Furnace, an iron ore furnace established by Roland and James Curtin in 1830.
Completely furnished with antiques and oriental carpets, the large guestrooms have either queen or double size beds.
In-room operating fireplaces and private baths are available.
A two course breakfast is served in the formal dining room from 7:30 till 10:00 AM.
Other times by special arrangements.
Recreation and Activities
Includes fly-fishing, catch and release fishing, swimming, hiking, biking, jogging, cross
country skiing, bird watching, hunting, antiqueing and relaxing.
The 14 acre stately grounds encourage casual strolls. Guests may use the gazebo for reading,
conversation and admiration of the huge historic trees located on the grounds.
The display of fall foliage is spectacular.
Fly-fishing from the Bald Eagle Creek is within walking distance. Convenient to other Centre
County fishing locations such as Spring Creek and Black Moshannon State Park. Attractions in
the area include State Parks, many Antique Shopping sites, Caves, Fall Festivals, two
Central Pennsylvania Arts Festivals, the Penn State Sports Events and activities.
Location
Located at the base of Skytop Mountain, situated on the 14 partially wooded acres with
an on-site Gazebo, fishing pond, historic stately trees, and wild flower meadows.
Twelve minutes from I-80, directly off 322 on Route 220.
Ten minutes from downtown State College and Penn State University. Forty-five minutes
from the Woolrich Store.

Restrictions
NO PETS; Children under 8 years of age. Smoking limited to sunporch area, summer kitchen
or on the grounds. There are cats on the premises.
Special Events
Outdoor weddings up to 100, Indoor weddings and private parties up to 45. Family reunions,
birthday parties, corporate meetings and retreats.
