Penn State Field Hockey Stadium Construction Closing In On Completion

Penn State is closing in on the completion of a $12.8 million renovation project to the Penn State Field Hockey Complex. The project also includes upgrades to the home and visiting team dressing areas, a locker room space of officials, ticket office, public restrooms and concession areas. The stadium will include roughly 1,200 bench seating capacity in addition to press and media boxes and a television broadcast booth.

The project is expected to be completed by the spring of 2024.

The project began under former head coach Char Morett-Curtiss who retired from that position last March although she has since remained with the athletic department in an advisory role. Following the retirement of Morett-Curtiss In February, Penn State hired longtime associate head coach Lisa Bervinchak Love to take over the role following the conclusion of Morett-Curtiss’ tenure at Penn State. The Nittany Lions have not yet released their 2024 schedule but generally speaking the field hockey season begins in late August running until early November.

The field hockey renovation project falls outside a larger swatch of renovation and upgrade plans clocking in at roughly $70 million that was approved last year. Those projects include an air supported practice bubble near the Jeffery Field complex which is slated to move forward soon.
