P.J. Harrigan’s to Reopen Under New Name

A longtime State College restaurant will soon have a new name and a new look.

P.J. Harrigan’s Bar and Grill, which has operated for more than 25 years at the Ramada Hotel & Conference Center at 1450 S. Atherton St., will reopen on April 2 as Celebrities.

The restaurant closed on March 23, according to the P.J. Harrigan’s website.

“We want to thank all of our wonderful guests and employees for supporting us over these past years,” a sign on the door of the restaurant stated. “We are extremely humbled that so many embraced our restaurant and that we were able to succeed as long as we had and we could not have done it without you.

“Join us as we move into a new chapter of our restaurant’s life as Celebrities Bar and Grill on April 2, 2024.”

Like P.J. Harrigan’s, the updated menu for Celebrities will feature American fare but with new offerings. The menu posted on the Celebrities website includes appetizers such as fried calamari, wings, shrimp skewers and Wagyu beef sliders. Along with a variety of burgers and sandwiches, the restaurant will also feature entrees such as crab cakes, ribeye steak, cottage pie, salmon and salads, among others.

A dessert menu features sweets such as baked Alaska, milkshakes, brownie a la mode and cheesecake.

Daily specials will include pizzas and stromboli on Tuesdays, a Wednesday burger special, smoked meat boards on Thursdays and the return of the prime ribeye special on Fridays and Saturdays.

The bar will offer a selection of specialty cocktails and martinis, as well as wine and draft and bottled beers. Happy hours are scheduled for 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays.
