Educating Stroke Survivors

HealthSouth Nittany Valley Rehabilitation Hospital’s Stroke Group, in honor of Stroke Awareness Month, hosted a presentation, “Motor Performance Following Stroke Depends on Brain Hemisphere,” on May 29. Pictured, from left, are presenters Candice Maenza, of the Movement Neuroscience Laboratory at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, and Dr. Robert Sainburg, professor of kinesiology and neurology at Penn State University, and Mitch Straub, Stroke Group facilitator at HealthSouth Nittany Valley. The Stroke Group meets the last Tuesday of each month at 4 p.m. to provide stroke survivors with education, support and resources focused on improved quality of life after a stroke. For more information, call (814) 359-3421.
