MILESBURG — The Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors recently held crew leadership training, offering a National Center for Construction Education and Research  course that helps participants develop skills to lead crews in the construction industry.

Course topics included project control, safety, problem solving, decision making, team building and communication.

“With the shortage of a skilled workforce in the construction industry, including supervisors, we want to provide purposeful training to our contractors’ employees to upskill the workforce,” said Dr. Marianne Hazel, president of the chapter.

Another crew leadership course is scheduled for Thursday, March 1, and Friday, March 2, and other training sessions, including Occupational and Safety Health Administration 10 and 30 courses, will be held throughout the spring.

“Our major focus at ABC, Central PA Chapter, is helping our builder members develop a skilled workforce,” said Scott Good, chairman of the ABC Central PA Chapter board of directors. “We look forward to continuing to be a resource in helping to train future craftsmen and leaders in the coming years.”
