South Hills students get glimpse into retailing

STATE COLLEGE — Second-year business administration-management and marketing students at South Hills School are required to take a retailing class, which highlights the many aspects of running a retail business. The course covers duties such as inventory control, pricing/buying, store operations, advertising and management.

As part of an ongoing speaker presentation series, students had the opportunity to gain insight into the world of retailing. Managers and other professionals from several companies, including large operations such as Wegmans and Trader Joe’s, as well as small local businesses such as The Animal Kingdom and Love It Upcycle Boutique
