Troy’s closes State College location

STATE COLLEGE — Troy’s Philadelphia-Style Hoagies has closed its State College shop, but is expanding its location on the Benner Pike in Bellefonte.

The last day for the 434 W. Aaron Drive restaurant, which had been open for about three years, was Aug. 3.

Troy’s will continue to deliver to Bellefonte and State College.

The Bellefonte location is where owner and Centre County native Troy Guenot opened his first Troy’s Philadelphia-Style Hoagies in 1994. After about 10 years, Guenot closed the shop to be able to spend more time with his family and to work in the energy industry.

Guenot and his wife Stefanie returned to the restaurant business in 2016 with the opening of the Aaron Drive Troy’s. In 2018, they went back to where it began with the opening of the Benner Pike restaurant.

Billed as “Happy Valley’s True Philly Taste,” Troy’s is known for a menu featuring a wide variety of cheesesteaks, pork sandwiches and hoagies, as well as wraps, burgers, chicken cutlets, salads and dinner entrees.
