STATE POLICE AT PHILIPSBURG

A Philipsburg woman told state police someone entered her car while she left it idling at Curtis and Drury streets in Philipsburg Borough and removed various items and prescription medication on Oct. 31.

Police investigated a report of theft of prescription medication from 117 Cherokee Court, Union Township, on Nov. 7. Troopers said someone used force to enter a locked cabinet and removed several medications.

One person was hurt when the car they were riding in struck a deer along South Eagle Valley Road in Huston Township at 2:13 a.m. Nov. 10, according to police.

Troopers said Kevin P. Joyce, of Woonsocket, R.I., was traveling west when the deer entered the road from the south. The vehicle struck the deer, but police said the airbags didn’t deploy. Joyce’s front-seat passenger, Kely E. Joyce, of Woonsocket, suffered minor injuries and was assessed at the scene by Bellefonte EMS then taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center, police said. The other two passengers weren’t hurt.

Krystal D. McClellan, of Coalport, was not hurt when she struck a deer with her car along Interstate 99 near mile marker 60 in Worth Township at 6:12 a.m. Nov. 12, according to police.

Jacqueline K. Gardner, of State College, suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash along Interstate 99 in Worth Township, according to police.

Gardner was traveling south at 7:49 a.m. Nov. 18 near mile marker 63 when she lost control of her Jeep while going through a right curve. The Jeep went off the left lane and struck a concrete barrier then overturned onto its side and slid across both southbound lanes. The vehicle came to a stop after striking the western guardrail and became upright again on its wheels.

Troopers said they are still investigating a theft from Weis Markets at 501 N. Centre St. in Philipsburg Borough on Nov. 22. Police didn’t provide additional details.

Two people were charged for discharging firearms in an occupied structure at 10:33 p.m. Nov. 23, according to police. Troopers said Trevor Stem, 30, of Bellefonte, and Barbara Dubbs, 36, of Philipsburg, were shooting a firearm into the ceiling of a residence along Walnut Street in Rush Township.

Both were taken to the Centre County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.

STATE POLICE AT ROCKVIEW

Curtis D. Cherrer, 21, of Bellefonte, will face driving under the influence charges after troopers said he was stopped for a traffic violation and found to be intoxicated at 12:31 a.m. Nov. 1 along Interstate 99 near mile marker 75 in Benner Township.

Police said Robert J. Fox, of Coburn, was not hurt when he struck a cow with his car at 7:20 a.m. Nov. 14 along Beaver Dam Road in Gregg Township.

Someone sheared off a utility pole with a vehicle and fled the scene along Greenbriar Gap Road near Log House Lane in Penn Township at 9:52 p.m. Nov. 17, according to police.

Guanglong Hu, of State College, was not hurt when he swerved to miss a deer along Interstate 99 at mile marker 80 in Spring Township at 4:29 a.m. Nov. 19, according to police. Troopers said his car traveled off the left side of the road, into the median then struck the back side of the guardrail for the southbound lanes under the overpass.

Troopers said they cited Cynthia B. Spangler, 61, of Bellefonte, with harassment after she went onto the property of a 30-year-old woman and started a confrontation at 5:22 p.m. Nov. 20 in the 1000 block of Valley View Road in Benner Township.

Dennis Shin, of Arlington Heights, Ill., was not hurt when he lost control of his vehicle along Interstate 80 at 12:27 p.m. Nov. 20, according to police. Shin was traveling west when his vehicle lost traction when he tried to brake, causing the vehicle to strike an embankment and roll over.

Troopers said they are looking for the owner of a Galaxy S8 mobile phone found at Buffalo Run Road and Crestview Drive in Benner Township at 9:02 a.m. Nov. 21.

A 64-year-old Howard woman will face driving under the influence charges after state police said she was intoxicated along Route 150 near TA truck stop in Boggs Township at 11:30 p.m. Nov. 22. Charges are pending blood test results.

Troopers said they found a 47-year-old Williamsport man to be intoxicated during a traffic stop along Interstate 99 at mile marker 79 in Benner Township at 6:52 p.m. Nov. 24. He was arrested for suspected driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood test results.

A 22-year-old Dubois man will face possession of marijuana charges after troopers said they could smell an odor of the drug during a traffic stop for speeding along Interstate 80 near mile marker 141 in Snow Shoe Township. Police said they found the marijuana in the man’s pocket during a probable cause search.

Two people suffered minor injuries when their car struck a deer along Interstate 80 at mile marker 147 in Snow Shoe Township, according to police. Troopers said Vivian D. Medina, of Scranton, was traveling east at 10:52 p.m. Nov. 26 when the deer ran in front the car. Medina and her passenger, whom police didn’t name, both were injured when their airbags deployed.
