ROCKVIEW STATE POLICE

Two inmates were discovered to be in possession with suspected suboxone during a cell search at SCI Benner on April 9. The investigation is ongoing.

Police said 12 oxycodone pills were reported as stolen from a home on Marsh Creek Road, Howard, on April 19. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

After a traffic stop on Interstate 80 at mile marker 156, a driver was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana April 20. The driver was also allegedly under the influence of a controlled substance and was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center for chemical testing. The investigation is ongoing.

While attending a yard sale along Nittany Ridge Road in Walker Township on April 21, Tasha Bryan, of Beech Creek, agreed to purchase a box of items for $37, but only had $10 on her person. Police said she agreed to meet the owner at Valero in Lamar to withdraw the rest of the money and pay the owner, but she never showed up or contacted the owner. Bryan has been charged with theft and receiving stolen property.

Police report that on April 28 a woman and man entered Weaver’s Store in Spring Mills and stole multiple items.

Inmate David Stewart at SCI Benner was found to be in alleged possession of liquid K2, a schedule one narcotic, on April 29.

Police report that a hit-and-run accident occurred April 30 on Route 144 in Centre Hall after a driver hit two parked vehicles on the street at 11:39 a.m.

Police said they received a report of a sexually explicit image sent by a minor May 1 in Boggs Township. The investigation is ongoing.

Police said on May 1, Marc Karnes, 44, of Mill Hall, allegedly called the Meadows Psychiatric Center in Potter Township and told staff that he would drive his van through the building and shoot people. He also said that if they called police he would get into a shootout with police. Police located Karnes and took him into custody for terroristic threats and harassment.

Police report that Adam Riglin, 39, of Howard, was pronounced dead at the scene of a motorcycle crash on Interstate 80 at mile marker 157 on May 2. Police said Riglin lost control of his Harley-Davidson motorcycle while passing a tractor-trailer and traveled underneath the trailer. He was then thrown from the motorcycle.

PHILIPSBURG STATE POLICE

Police investigated a case of simple assault that occurred on Moore Street in Union Township on March 12. Police said the assault occurred when a 27-year-old woman jumped on a 58-year-old man’s back and scratched him in several places with her nails.

While driving on the Port Matilda Highway in Rush Township on April 18, police said Melanie Bush veered of the road and struck a pole with her driver’s side mirror and continued driving down the road. A witness called the crash into police. Bush was later pulled over for a traffic stop and given a citation for driving on roadways not laned for traffic.

After a traffic stop on the 1500 block of the Port Matilda Highway in Philipsburg, police arrested a 67-year-old man for a DUI on April 1.

Police investigated an incident of criminal mischief where a 61-year-old man drove his vehicle through a yard on Buffalo Land Road in Halfmoon Township causing damage on May 6.
