REEDSVILLE — A chance to honor those who served in the Vietnam War will soon have a chance to do so by making the short trip to Reedsville in Mifflin County. The Traveling Wall, a traveling replica of the Vietnam Veteran’s War Memorial in Washington, D.C., will be in Reedsville Aug. 7 to 11, allowing people to remember, learn and pay tribute.

And while the Traveling Wall may not be as large as the one in D.C., it is the largest traveling Vietnam Wall replica. At 80-percent scale of the actual memorial, it is 360 feet long and contains the names of the American casualties of the war. The Wall gives people who cannot make the trip to D.C. to see the original a chance to pay tribute closer to home.
