Getwireless.net To Serve Vairo Village

on June 26, 2006 2:31 PM

Getwireless.net, Central Pennsylvania’s leading provider of wireless broadband Internet access, is pleased to announce that it has been selected to deliver high-speed Internet access to the Heritage Oaks apartment complex.  Heritage Oaks, which will be acquired by Vairo Village Apartments by the end of June and renamed Vairo Village, will now offer broadband Internet service to its residents through high-speed wireless connections.  Getwireless.net will deliver the service to the Vairo Village complex via a fixed-point wireless connection.  From there, the service will be accessible wirelessly throughout the Vairo Village property.

"We are very pleased to have been selected as the Internet provider to Vairo Village," stated Dan Myers, President & CEO of Getwireless.net, Inc.  "Vairo Village's new owners understand how important the Internet is to their tenants and have made the commitment to making a high-speed, reliable, and secure service available to each and every resident," Myers continued.  "By making Internet service readily available and affordable, Vairo Village now has a tremendous competitive advantage over other complexes that require tenants to search for an Internet provider.  I expect that word of what Vairo Village is doing will spread quickly among the student population and will result in increased occupancy in the future."

The wireless network to be established at Vairo Village will use the same technology that Getwireless.net recently installed to establish a WiFi mesh network in Downtown State College.  The downtown network makes high-speed wireless Internet connectivity available throughout the downtown area and portions of the Penn State University campus.  Similar to WiFi networks established in Philadelphia and San Francisco, Getwireless.net's network is accessible at street level and within downtown buildings.  The network supports 802.11b/g connections at up to 54 Mb/s.  Customers will initially experience upload and download speeds of up to 2 Mb/s.

Since 1998, Getwireless.net has been providing high-speed broadband Internet access through fixed-point wireless connections that deliver speeds greater than that available by traditional T1 or cable connections, but at a fraction of the cost.  For businesses that depend heavily on the Internet, VoIP and VPN connections for daily operations, Getwireless.net provides a very stable and dependable connection, either as a primary service or as secondary backup connection to existing T1, DSL or cable modem service.  In addition, the company also offers affordable residential broadband connectivity, traditional landline-based broadband services, such as T1 lines, managed website hosting, server co-location, DSL, and nationwide dial-up Internet access.  Getwireless.net currently provides high-speed Internet service throughout Centre, Blair, Mifflin, Bedford, Huntingdon, and Juniata Counties.
