Accident Victims Taken to Hospital After Three Car Wreck
It was a scary scene late Monday afternoon after a three car collision on the Benner Pike.
It happened at a traffic light near the entrance to the Nittany Mall -- directly across from Macy's.
An officer at the scene tells StateCollege.com that it appears one vehicle turned in front of oncoming traffic and was hit by a car driving in the opposite direction. At least one of those two cars hit a third vehicle that was stopped for a red light.
There were at least five people in those three cars.
Emergency crews, including police cruisers, fire trucks and ambulances, rushed to the scene. About two dozen first responders helped treat the injured -- lifting at least two people onto stretchers and taking them to the hospital.
According to one of the police officers, the injuries did not appear to be life threatening. Two of the vehicles suffered heavy front end damage and were towed away.
