Two members of the staff at State College-based AccuWeather were honored last week with national awards.

Meteorologist and customer success coordinator Becky DePodwin, pictured with National Weather Association President Paul Schlatter, received the NWA's 2019 Special Appreciation Award on Sept. 11 during the association's 44th annual meeting in Huntsville, Ala.

The award recognizes DePodwin’s efforts in raising awareness of mental health, work/life balance, and issues for women in meteorology.

Sarah Katt, vice president for video strategy, AccuWeather Network, was honored at the Cynopsis Top Women in Media Awards on Sept. 9 in New York City. The awards recognize the best and brightest women in the media industry. Katt, pictured below, has helped increase AccuWeather Network’s TV distribution by 400 percent, and in the past 12 months helped increase video related revenue by 200 percent, among other achievements.
