Central Pennsylvania Creative Professionals, known as [CP]2, on Saturday hosted its annual award ceremony honoring excellence in advertising, design and marketing created in Central Pennsylvania.

The group also announced the Mid-State Literacy Council as this year’s Brand[Aid] recipient, an initiative that brings together dozens of professionals who are members of [CP]2 to update a local nonprofits branding and marketing for free.

Mid-State Literacy Council provides basic literacy, English as a Second Language and family literacy services to adults in Centre and Clearfield Counties.

“We are thrilled to be working with the talented Brand[Aid] team. Their vision to expand Mid-State Literacy Council’s reach and impact is a generous leap forward,” Council Executive Director Amy Wilson said.

This is the second time [CP]2 has offered the free rebranding. In 2015, members worked with Housing Transitions, to update its logo, website, messaging, marketing materials and fundraising strategy. Last year, Taproot Kitchen was selected to receive the services, which take months of collaboration but centers on a massive work session in June.

Hosted at the Penn State Downtown Theatre Center and emceed by actor Mike Waldhier, the fourth annual event presented gold and silver Bracket Awards to 14 local agencies, media outlets, businesses and nonprofits.

“Four award shows in and the story remains the same—our tiny market is producing some unbelievable ideas and executions,” [CP]2 President Mark D. Dello Stritto said.

Dello Stritto said he would be stepping down as [CP]2 president and will be succeeded by board member Carol White.

State College's Rowland Creative was awarded Best in Show for an event invite created for API Technologies. Runner-up Judges Awards were given to Penn State Press for its book “Soviet Salvage” and AccuWeather for its BloodMoon BrandStorm event marketing.

Entries were judged by a third-party panel of seven experts in Pittsburgh and those receiving the highest marks were selected for an award.
