Former Penn State football player Christopher Bell accepted a plea deal offerred by the commonwealth Tuesday.  The plea deal lets Bell avoid jail time after an April incident in which police say he threatened a teammate with a knife.

According to the Daily Collegian, Bell pleaded guilty to one count of terroristic threats, which is a first-degree misdemeanor and was his most serious charge.  Charges of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct, and harassment were dismissed.

As a result of the plea agreement, Bell will receive two years probation at the request of the commonwealth but he could face added community service or fines imposed by Centre County Judge Brad Lunsford at his August 29th sentencing.  (Read More)
