Bellefonte Pet Boutique to Close

Bone Bar and Boutique in Bellefonte in planning to close after about two years in business.

The shop at 135 W. High St. has been offering pet items such as gourmet dog treats, food, knit sweaters, accessories and specialty toys and gifts for dogs and cats since 2016. Owner Carly Andriaccio wrote in a Facebook post on Sunday that she is closing the store to pursue a new career.

"While the store is doing well, I don’t believe that Bellefonte will be able to support the Bone Bar long-term, and I have an opportunity I cannot turn down," the post said.

Patrons will still have time to shop, however. Andriaccio said she intends to keep the store open on Saturdays and First Sundays as long as inventory will allow, with the plan to be open on weekends until the end of 2018.

The shop's space in the Barn at Lemont will continue "indefinitely" and the Bone Bar and Boutique website will be up and running through the end of the year.

Andriaccio said she will no longer be taking custom orders, but that customers who already purchase food from her will be able to do so for the rest of the year.

Two sections of the store are dedicated to sale items at 30 percent off and Andriaccio expects more sales to be offered as the end of the year nears.

"I want to thank you all for being the best customers I could have asked for, and making my time here some of the most fun work I’ve ever done," she wrote. "I’ve loved meeting all of you and your dogs (and cats!) as you’re in and out of the store, sharing pieces of your lives with me. It’s truly been rewarding - not to mention I’ve gotten a lot of puppy kisses out of the deal!"
