Bellefonte Victorian Christmas: A Tradition Continues

by on December 08, 2017 1:12 PM

The 36th annual Victorian Christmas kicks off on Friday, turning Bellefonte into a winter wonderland for the weekend. With horse-drawn carriage rides, music, historical tours, breakfast with Santa and much more, there are activities for all ages to celebrate the holiday season.

"It's just very authentic, with all of the Victorian buildings and beautiful sights to see," said Bellefonte resident Allison Colm. "They really do a great job."

Dave Woodring, a fourth-generation owner of Woodring's Floral Gardens, said participating in Victorian Christmas has been an annual tradition for his family's business. The Woodrings grow poinsettias in their greenhouse to be displayed around town during the festival.

"It's a good draw to town," he said. "It brings people from other areas that don't always come to Bellefonte. Lots of foot traffic in and out of the local merchants. It's a good thing.
