Blake Shelton will headline the first ever concert in Beaver Stadium on July 8, 2017, the school announced during the Penn State-Iowa football game Saturday night. Penn State Athletics announced during the Penn State-Ohio State football game on Oct. 22 that a concert would take place at the stadium next summer.

Shelton will be joined by country artists Chris Young, Big & Rich, David Ray and Adley Stump. Tickets start at $33 and presale for Nittany Lion Club members as well as Penn State students, faculty and staff starts at 10 a.m. Nov 8. Online only public on sale begins on Nov. 16 at 10 a.m. at HappyValleyJam.com. Phone/in-person public sale begins Nov. 17 at 10 a.m. by calling 1-800-NITTANY or visiting the Bryce Jordan Center box office

Stump will begin the show at 4 p.m., followed by Ray at 5, Big & Rich at 6, Young at 7:45 and Shelton at 9:30.

Beer will be sold at concession stands throughout the stadium, and wine sales will be available in the premium areas.

"We are elated to welcome Blake Shelton and a tremendous lineup to the first-ever concert in Beaver Stadium," Penn State Athletic Director Sandy Barbour said in a release. "We have been resolute in our efforts to make our first stadium event unique. The Happy Valley Jam will be an historic day for Central Pennsylvania and we can't wait."

"We are thrilled to be the first to organize a concert at Beaver Stadium," said Gary DeWaard, president and CEO of Basis Entertainment. "We have confirmed our stellar line up to create a historic moment for Penn State."

Shelton, one of the biggest names in country music, hasn't been back to Happy Valley since he opened for Rascal Flatts in 2006. The artist has released hit after hit in his 18-year career, and fans still regard "Austin" --his first hit -- as one of his best. Odds are you've heard Shelton at one point or another, as he's been seen success with songs "Honey Bee," "God Gave Me You," "Boys 'Round Here," "Sure Be Cool If You Did," and "Sangria." Shelton's most recent release comes in the album If I'm Honest, featuring "Came Here to Forget" and "She's Got a Way With Words."

The country superstar is also known for his role as a judge on NBC's "The Voice," where he's been helping other musicians realize their dreams of making it big and fighting with Adam Levine since 2011.
