Blue-White Game: Roster Released, Team to Wear Special Jerseys

by and on April 12, 2014 9:00 AM

While Penn State’s iconic uniforms have undergone small changes throughout the years, they’ve typically stayed the same: Black shoes, blue jerseys, and pretty much nothing else.

But for the Blue-White game only, Penn State will wear special jerseys that will have an Uplifting Athletes patch on them.

The offensive line, due to depth issues, will wear gray uniforms that will allow them to play on both teams if needed. The specialists will also wear the gray jerseys.

Last year, the team raised a record $140,000 for Uplifting Athletes, a charity started by former Penn State player Scott Shirley.

The Nittany Lions will look to break that record again this year at their annual Lift For Life, which will take place during the weekend of July 11-13. The special game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off after the game, with all proceeds going to Uplifting Athletes.

The athletic department also released the rosters for the Blue-White game, with the team and coaching staff split in half.
