Borough Council Opens October with 23-Minute Meeting

by on October 02, 2012 6:00 AM

Correction: An earlier report incorrectly noted that the State College Borough Council's regular meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. every other Monday in the Municipal Building, 243 S. Allen St. Borough Council meets on the first and third Monday of each month, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The second Monday of each month, council meets in a work session, which begins at 6:30 p.m.

In what Mayor Elizabeth Goreham called a record, the State College Borough Council whizzed through its agenda in only 23 minutes at Monday's regular meeting with unanimous decisions and no major discussions.

Amy Waldron, from the Penn State Marketing Association, addressed Council while Paul Spring represented the Affordable Housing Coalition during the report to Council.

Council breezed through the discussion of ongoing borough developments. All issues were agreed upon unanimously and without much question.

The 2013 Consolidated Annual Action Plan was approved by the entire Council. The plan provides details on proposed projects for federal Community Development Block Grant and HOME grant money during the 2013 fiscal year.
