The driver who allegedly fled the scene was found in Patton Township and is suspected of driving under the influence.

A male borough employee was operating a motorized line painting tractor around 2:20 a.m. at the intersection of East Beaver Avenue and Sowers Street when he was struck by a vehicle. Police arrived to find the tractor overturned and the employee on the road complaining of leg pain.

Police said that just prior to the crash, the suspect drove through and broke the exit gate at the Pugh Street Garage.

The borough employee's injuries included several broken bones. He was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center by Centre LifeLink EMS and then flown to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, where he was still being treated on Friday afternoon.
