Bryce Jordan Center Marquee Gets Facelift

by on December 13, 2016 3:30 PM

The Bryce Jordan Center might its same old self on the inside but the marquee outside the building is getting a facelift.

Crews working on the marquee could be spotted outside the Jordan Center on Tuesday afternoon replacing the three sided structure with more update LED screens. By mid afternoon crews had removed all three of the previous screens and were in the process of placing the first of the three new ones.

The Bryce Jordan Center opened in 1996, housing men's and women's basketball as well as numerous concerts and events throughout the years. Penn State's longterm master plan was due to be released earlier this fall but has since been delayed. While little to no official information has come out regarding the nature of the 10-20 year plan, the Jordan Center looks to be one of the focal points of the on campus projects.

Over the past few years much of the concourse area of the Jordan Center has been upgraded for basketball games, the roof was also recently replaced. The basketball court itself was also recently upgraded after the floor at the center of the gym was refurbished this past offseason.

This story will be updated as the project approaches completion.
