State College Police are investigating a series of burglaries that occurred in student apartments during Penn State's Thanksgiving break.

Police say there were three burglaries in roughly the same area. Investigators believe they are related. The burglaries were all reported Nov. 30.

The first reported burglary occurred at 148 W. Hamilton Ave., where a flatscreen television was stolen. The second reported burglary happened at 150 W. Hamilton Ave., where two apartments were entered and one X-Box was stolen. The third occurred at 518 S. Pugh St. where a television, X-Box and some loose change were stolen.

Police say that all the apartments were locked. In each burglary the apartment door was kicked in.

State College Police Lt. Keith Robb says "We always get a rise of burglary and theft during break."

Robb says people should keep a record of serial numbers on their electronics, so if thieves are caught trying to sell them police can locate the owners.
