According to the Daily Collegian, a 1995 Mercedes Benz driven by Nick Skladany struck at home at 820 West College Avenue at about 12:52 a.m. Wednesday.  The force of the crash caused significant damage to the building's foundation and outside masonry.  A large number of bricks were knocked out of the opposite side of the house and it appeared the whole house may have been shifted.

The four residents living in the home were told the house will be uninhabitable for at least three months.  The landlord also stated that firefighters told her the house will most likely be bulldozed.

The driver of the car is in serious condition at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.  Skladany complained of severe leg pain and facial injuries and was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center and was later flown to Geisinger in Danville where he is being treated for a fractured pelvis.

The police reported stated Skladany, 21, was driving eastbound on the 900 block of West College Avenue, traveling at 55 mph in a 25 mph zone.  An on-duty Ferguson Township Police Officer began to follow Skladany after he failed to make the right turn onto Buckhout Street.  Skladany continued going straight, striking a concrete barrier, a street sign, a curb, a wooden post, a chain bordering a corner parking lot, another chain, and then the house.   (Read More)
