Centre County added two new COVID-19 cases on Friday, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health. The county has now had 138 cases of the virus since the first was reported on March 20.

Statewide, the health department reported 866 new positives, bringing Pennsylvania's total to 66,258. It was the 12th consecutive day the state reported fewer than 1,000 new cases.

For the first time, DOH included information about patient recoveries, using a formula to determine about 57 percent — 37,767— of Pennsylvanians with the virus have recovered.

"Individuals who have recovered is determined using a calculation, similar to what is being done by several other states," the report said. "If a case has not been reported as a death, and it is more than 30 days past the date of their first positive test (or onset of symptoms) then an individual is considered recovered."

Pennsylvania has had 4,984 deaths attributed to the virus, including 115 added to the count by DOH on Friday. Centre County has had five COVID-19 deaths, the most recent occurring on May 14.

The county's overall case counts by zip code are:

In the past two weeks, Centre County has reported 21 new cases overall.

Among Centre County's bordering counties, Huntingdon now has 223 cases, Union has 61, Mifflin has 57, Clinton has 48, Blair has 46 and Clearfield has 33.
