Centre County Adds 30 COVID-19 Cases

Centre County reported 30 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday to bring its total to 3,545 since the first was confirmed in March.

The county also had 365 new negative test results, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health. A total of 32,184 patients in the county have tested negative for the virus.

According to DOH data, Centre County has 12 COVID-19 hospitalizations, one fewer than Monday.

Statewide, the health department reported 1,342 new positives, increasing Pennsylvania's total to 174,646.

There were 15,387 new negative test results statewide. A total of 2,060,093 patients in Pennsylvania have tested negative for the virus.

An estimated 81% of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered, according to a DOH calculation. 

Across Pennsylvania, 773 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, with 83 requiring use of a ventilator.

The health department reported 16 new COVID-19 deaths, bringing the state's total at 8,384. DOH has reported 13 total COVID-19 deaths for Centre County, the most recent on Saturday. The coroner's office has confirmed nine, ranging in age from 74 to 101.

Most COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths have been among patients 65 and older, according to DOH.

Among Pennsylvania's total cases, 168,253 are confirmed and 6,393 are probable. In Centre County, 3,460 are confirmed and 85 are probable.
