Centre LifeLink EMS Reaccredited for 19th Year

Centre LifeLink EMS has been reaccredited for a sixth consecutive three-year term by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS).

The accreditation recognizes Centre LifeLink for "compliance with national standards of excellence and exemplifying the 'gold standard' of emergency medical care," according to a news release.

First receiving the accreditation in 1999, Centre LifeLink is one of just seven ambulance services in Pennsylvania to hold the distinction among the top 1 percent of services in the nation.

CAAS in a nonprofit organization that promotes quality patient care among medical transportation services. It establishes national standards for patient care delivery, ambulance services' overall operations and relationships with other agencies, the medical community and the public.

The accreditation standards often exceed state and local licensing requirements.

"We continuously strive to do our best and our consistent accreditation status is another step toward excellence,” said Scott Rawson, executive director of Centre LifeLink. “Everyone here plays a valuable role in our ability to continuously meet the commission’s high standards.”
