The Centre Region Office of Emergency Management on Wednesday (Dec. 6) will conduct a test of the region's Alerting and Notification Plan.

The test will take place between 10 a.m. and noon and during that time Centre Region residents will receive a Centre County Code Red test message. The message will be sent to any listed phone number in the Centre Region, as well as to cell phones that have been registered in the Centre County Code Red system.

Code Red is a mass notification system used by the county to send messages in the event of an emergency.

For more information and to register a cell phone in the system, go here or contact the Centre Region Office of Emergency Management at (814) 235-7838.
