With 99 percent of precincts reporting, Centre Countian Scott Conklin has a nearly 5,000-vote lead over rival Jonathan Saidel, of Philadelphia, for the Democratic nomination for lieutenant governor.

Conklin has 35.4 percent of the vote statewide; Saidel, 34.9 percent; and Doris Smith-Ribner, of Philadelphia, 29.8 percent.

But as of 5:38 a.m., votes in 75 of the 9,236 precincts statewide had yet to be counted, according to a tally on the Pennsylvania Department of State website.
