Construction Work Under Way for Trampoline Park

A long-awaited indoor trampoline park in the State College area is getting closer to reality.

Interior construction work is under way on Get Air's new location at 2252 E. College Ave. in College Township, next to the Giant supermarket in the Nittany Commons shopping center.

Get Air spokesperson Morgan Davenport said an opening date has not yet been set, "but it's getting close." Davenport said the hope is to open "sometime this summer." Building permits were approved in May.

In addition to wall-to-wall trampolines, the 23,000-square foot facility will have other features, including foam pits, a dodgeball court and a ninja warrior course with elements such as a slack line and rock-climbing wall.

Get Air initially planned to open in the Nittany Mall in 2016, but earlier this year the company announced it had signed a lease on the Nittany Commons location. The announcement said the park would hire 40 to 50 people.

While it will be State College's first trampoline park, it's not the first attempt to bring one to the area. In 2015, Sky Zone listed State College as location that would be "coming soon," but plans never developed and the State College page was removed from its website.

Get Air has locations in 34 states, as well as Canada, Mexico, Finland and Japan. The State College location will be its fifth in Pennsylvania.
