Country Band Old Dominion to Play Bryce Jordan Center

by on April 26, 2018 10:21 AM

Old Dominion will bring its rock- and pop-tinged country sound to the Bryce Jordan Center this fall.

The 2018 Academy of Country Music Vocal Group of the Year will bring their "Happy Endings" world tour to State College on Friday, Oct. 26 for a 7:30 p.m. show. Special guests Granger Smith and High Valley will open.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 4, at all Bryce Jordan Center ticket outlets, by phone at 1-800-745-3000 and online.

Old Dominion broke big in 2015 when the hits "Break Up with Him" and "Song for Another Time" went to No. 1 on the Country Airplay charts. But before that the five-piece band had been making their names writing songs for some country's biggest stars, including Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, The Band Perry, Chris Young, Blake Shelton and Dierks Bentley.

After winning ACM's New and Breakthrough Group of the Year honors in 2016, the band's highly-anticipated sophomore album "Happy Endings," released in 2017, went to No. 1 on the country charts and spawned hits including "No Such Thing As a Broken Heart," and "Written in the Sand."

With their two-decade rise from songwriters and relentless live performers to hitmakers playing arenas, Billboard called Old Dominion "country's best underdog story.
