Despite Scandal, Penn State Will Give Annual Pay Raises to Faculty and Staff
Penn State, already reeling from pending civil lawsuits and fallout from the Jerry Sandusky scandal, will give annual pay increases to its faculty and staff.
University employees were informed of the decision earlier this week.
However, due to remaining budgetary uncertainties, the increases will be determined later this summer and made retroactive to July 1.
According to Penn State's official state appropriation request, faculty salaries were frozen in 2009-10 due to the economic downturn, but were reinstated with modest pay raises in 2010-11.
