Exclusive Jerry Sandusky Interview to Air Monday on TODAY Show

by on March 22, 2013 11:49 AM

Jerry Sandusky will speak publicly, for the first time since he went to jail, in an interview on the TODAY Show, according to the show's website.

On Monday, the show will air "Jerry Sandusky: In His Own Words," in which the convicted felon will speak out for the first time, according to the website

Sandusky, 69, was sentenced to 30-60 years in prison in October after being found guilty in June on 45 of 48 counts of child sexual abuse.

Before Judge John Cleland sent him to prison for life, Sandusky spoke in court for the first time, in an effort to assert what he believed was his innocence. He did not testify at his own trial.

In November 2011, Sandusky spoke over the phone with Bob Costas on NBC's "Rock Center with Brian Williams." The prosecution used sound bites from that interview at his trial in June and NBC released unaired footage

Sandusky is incarcerated at SCI Greene, a maximum-security prison about three hours away from State College. He spends about 23 hours a day in his single cell.

The TODAY Show airs from 7-11 a.m. on NBC.
