Former Nittany Lion Charged with Selling Marijuana

by on October 31, 2013 12:41 PM

A former Penn State football player is charged with dealing marijuana in Lehigh County, according to court documents.

Austin Scott, 28, of Allentown is charged with four counts of delivery of a controlled substance, five counts of possession with intent to deliver and five counts of possession of a controlled substance. He allegedly sold marijuana to undercover police on four occasions between July and this past Wednesday.

The alleged purchases occurred in Whitehall, South Whitehall and Allentown.

On Wednesday, police say they searched the former tailback's home and found a green vegetable like matter that was later tested as positive for marijuana, as well as glass pipe with residue.

Scott is free on $10,000 bail.

In 2007, Scott was kicked off the football team when rape charges were filed against him. Those charges were later dropped for a lack of evidence.

Josh Karoly, the attorney who handled Scott's arraignment, says that the amount of marijuana Scott is charged with selling is very small.

"Obviously as of right now those charges are being contested and [Scott] is innocent until proven guilty," Karoly says. "We are in the early stages so we don't know all facts."
