Renowned Bruce Springsteen tribute act Bruce in the USA will headline a free concert in June as part of the Penn State Alumni Association's We Are Weekend.

Local rockers Velveeta will open the concert at 12:30 p.m on Saturday, June 1, at Medlar Field. Bruce in the USA will take the stage at 2 p.m.

Though admission for the concert is free, registration is required. Go here to reserve free, general admission tickets.

Bruce in the USA is comprised of seasoned musicians who regularly play around the country as one of the most skilled Springsteen tribute bands.

“This band is as close to seeing Bruce Springsteen as you can get. The sound, look and musicians are unparalleled to anything else," Dustin Rehrig, manager of DDR Entertainment, said in a press release.

One of the Alumni Association's marquee events, We Are Weekend takes place May 31-June 2. Registration for the rest of We Are Weekend is open to all Penn Staters, though participants need to be an Alumni Association member, or sign up to be one upon registering for the weekend. Alumni Association members can also bring a non-member as a guest.

We Are Weekend includes college and interest group events; behind-the-scenes access on facility tours; commemorative photos at the Nittany Lion Shrine; Dueling Lions Piano Bar featuring Howl at the Moon musicians; campus shuttle transportation; a tote bag and special gift; custom Penn State luggage tags; downtown discounts; and access to discounted Happy Valley Music Festival tickets.
