Freezing Rain Advisory Cancelled, Wintry Weather Still Possible Friday
Update 6:30 a.m. The National Weather Service has cancelled a Freezing Rain Advisory posted earlier. However, a Winter Weather Advisory is still in effect for areas south of State College. AccuWeather predicts some light snow and possibly some freezing drizzle in State College Friday morning.
We're expecting warmer temperatures this weekend but first we'll have to get through another round of wintry weather.
Freezing rain is expected early Friday morning and that could create slippery conditions in the State College area and across much of South-Central Pennsylvania.
The National Weather Service has issued a Freezing Rain Advisory which will be in effect from 4 a.m. through 3 p.m. Friday.
A period of light icing is possible as a weak weather system passes through.
Accumulations of up to a tenth of an inch of ice could make travel hazardous on untreated roads.
Motorists are urged to be careful when driving especially when crossing bridges and overpasses.
We've already seen a lot of frigid weather conditions this winter. Temperatures hit a record low of nine below zero Tuesday morning. However, AccuWeather is calling for temperatures in the upper 40s and maybe even the 50s by Saturday.
