From Humble Beginnings, Lion's Pantry Helps Students in Need

by on November 02, 2016 5:00 AM

As a Penn State student, Cliff Hamilton got the ball rolling four years ago for Lion's Pantry, a food bank on campus for students in need.

After a discussion with the director of the State College Food Bank, Hamilton became passionate about the idea and sparked a group of his fraternity brothers to join in on the cause and helped to make it a reality in 2014. It now provides help to any student who needs it, no questions asked.

Last week Penn State's Class of 2017 voted to endow permanent funding for Lion's Pantry with its Senior Class Gift.

Centre County Report takes a closer look at how Lion's Pantry began and how its helping students in need not have to worry about finding a meal.
