Penn State board Chairman Steve Garban and Vice Chairman John Surma declined Friday to seek reappointment to their board-officer positions.
Each of the men has served in his respective role for two years. University tradition holds that board officers hold the positions for three years apiece.
In Garban's and Surma's place, the board selected Karen Peetz as its new chair and Keith Masser as its new vice chair.
Peetz, in opening remarks, said the board will focus on transparency, reform and change.
