Grammy Winner T.I. Sets Penn State Concert Date

UPDATE @ 8:19 a.m. Thursday: T.I. has been arrested in Los Angeles on drug charges, according to this report on USAToday.com. We're monitoring to see if this could have any bearing on his Penn State concert date. --SC.com

Renowned hip-hop artist T.I. will return to Penn State's Bryce Jordan Center this month, the center staff announced Wednesday.

T.I., a Grammy Award winner, is scheduled to play the venue at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24.

Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday this week, according to the Jordan Center announcement.

Born in 1980 in Atlanta, T.I. will appear at University Park one day shy of his 30th birthday. He founded Grand Hustle Records and is known for chart-topping hits such as "Whatever You Like," "Swagga Like Us" and "Live Your Life," which features Rihanna.

T.I.'s seventh studio album, "King Uncaged," is slated for release Sept. 28. He last appeared at University Park in December 2008.

For the Sept. 24 concert, general-admission and reserved seats will be priced at $39.75 apiece, according the Jordan Center announcement. The price for Penn State students enrolled at University Park will be $25 apiece.

Tickets will be available through the Bryce Jordan Center ticket office, Eisenhower Auditorium, the Penn State Downtown Theatre Center and the Penn State Altoona campus ticket outlet. They also will be sold via www.bjc.psu.edu, www.ticketmaster.com and a ticket hotline: (814) 865-5555.
